What makes Aplantis quality so special?

Quality and expertise you can count on.

Our aspiration goes beyond the mere supply of raw materials – we see ourselves as a reliable partner for quality and process reliability along the entire supply chain. For us, product and process quality is the central foundation for sustainable customer satisfaction.

In the following sections, we will give you a concrete insight into our quality standards, control mechanisms, and measures along the value chain, and show you the added value you can gain from them for your own applications and processes.

Data-driven, in-depth analytics

Quality and Safety

Plant-based raw materials are inherently complex. Depending on the plant species, growing region, and supplier, various contaminants may be present, including, to name just a few:

Mycotoxins, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), pesticide residues, heavy metals, microbiological contaminants, and process contaminants such as mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOAHs) or ethylene oxide.

These substances are not only relevant from a regulatory standpoint. They can also lead to recalls, product damage, and significant economic risks.

This is precisely where we come in.

Based on an internal risk database built up over many years, we evaluate every raw material systematically and data-driven—differentiated by plant species, growing region, and supplier. This allows us to identify relevant risks early on and define targeted testing programs.

In external, accredited laboratories, we analyze over 30 contaminant and quality parameters as well as a wide range of relevant constituents and active ingredients.

The result: maximum batch-specific safety through in-depth, risk-based analysis at an expert level.

In-house warehouse, in-house laboratories

Everything under one roof.

Our temperature-controlled warehouse is located directly next to our laboratories/clean rooms. This allows us to comprehensively test every batch on-site and without any loss of time.

We analyze each batch not just by random sampling, but in detail: Through elaborate, representative sampling (opening several bags/drums according to the root-n+1 principle), we specifically reduce inhomogeneities within batches - for example, with regard to ethylene oxide, MOAH, or microbiological contamination.

At the same time, we consistently ensure the authenticity of the goods. Using IR identity analyses and organoleptic tests, we check whether content and declaration match, thereby specifically minimizing food fraud risks.

Your advantage:

Maximum batch-related safety through in-depth, practical testing - directly on the goods, not on paper.

Application-oriented tests

Practically tested. Directly for your formula.

Our application laboratory does not evaluate raw materials in isolation, but rather in the way you use them in your formulation. Depending on the industry, we specifically test the parameters that are crucial for you:

  • Contract manufacturers: Bulk and tapped density, mixing behavior, homogeneity tests - relevant for capsule filling, dosing, and process stability.

  • Beverage manufacturers: Water solubility in cold and hot water, dispersion analyses with high-shear mixers, turbidity and sediment evaluation.

For you, this means: Fast and practical evaluations - directly from our laboratory into your recipe.

Documentation at Aplantis

Maximum transparency.
Clear basis for decision-making.

We create and maintain all documents (specifications, certificates of analysis, SDS, statements, etc.) completely in-house, consciously exceeding common market standards:

Full and clear declaration of composition
Transparent declaration of excipients (e.g., maltodextrin)
Clear differentiation between naturally present and added active ingredients
Disclosure of Extraction Ratios and Processing Methods
Transparent declaration of the solvents used in the manufacturing process
Comprehensive presentation of all relevant contaminant parameters
Process flowcharts for transparent depiction of manufacturing and processing
Creation and maintenance of safety data sheets (SDS) in accordance with current regulatory requirements
Assessment of Novel Food Status
